Six torch-cut roadplate fragments with a welded pattern and rust patina.
A series of heavy, industrial drawings depicting fragments of cosmological representations. Each plate weighs in at upwards of 30 pounds. The work takes equal parts inspiration from municipal road plates and the Complaint tablet to Ea-nāṣir, the oldest known written complaint dating back to Mesopotamia.
I'm tickled by the durability of pedestrian things; their transcendence into artifact, art and mythology.
